Mental Health First Aid classes in May and June are now available for registration. The classes are offered by the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services, and will take place in Sidney May 6 or Greenville June 17.
Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care.
Anyone can take the 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course — first responders, students, teachers, leaders of faith communities, human resources professionals, and caring citizens.
Pre-registration is required. Cost of each class is $25 which includes the required manual. Additional courses are planned in Shelby, Miami and Darke Counties over the coming months.
