Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is a nationally recognized program that teaches law enforcement officers safe and effective approaches to handling crisis incidents involving a mentally ill individual. This CIT Companion Training for Fire/EMT Responders will provide responders with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify a person in mental health crisis and to respond effectively. The training will be conducted under the instructional supervision of local CIT trained police officers, mental health professionals, consumers, and family advocates and will offer practical techniques for de-escalating crisis calls.

The CIT Companion Course for Fire/EMT Responders is a FREE training, made possible by funds from the Tri-County Mental Health Levy. Responders and their supervisors from across Darke, Miami and Shelby counties are invited to attend. |
