HELP OTHERS WITH HOPE: Suicide Prevention Awareness

Know the warning signs

  • Talking about act of suicide
  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • Sudden or dramatic behavior or mood changes
  • Searching for ways or obtaining means
  • Isolation and withdrawal
  • Saying goodbye/giving away possessions

Know what to do

  • If harm is imminent, call 9-1-1
  • If you or someone you know is suffering a mental health crisis call 24/7 Tri-County Crisis Hotline 800-351-7347 or text 4Hope to 741741 National Crisis Text Line
  • Listen non-judgmentally and offer support and encouragement
  • Encourage professional screening and help

The Compassionate Friends, Miami County Chapter
Meet with others who have lost a child, grandchild, sibling, or other infant, teen, or adult loved one to illness, accident, suicide, overdose, or other sudden or unexpected cause. Meetings are discreet and confidential. Meets 4th Thursday of the month (subject to change) at United Church of Christ of Nashville, 4540 W. State Route 571, between West Milton and Tipp City. Meeting time is 7:00pm. Call Kim at 937.573.9877 for meeting information
