​IMMEDIATE DANGER

SIGNS: Suicidal or homicidal ideas, talk or behavior signaling harm to self or others;
weapon or other means present
ACTION: Call 911 immediately. Get to a safe place.
WHAT TO SAY: “I need help now. I am (or someone else is) in danger now.”
​FOR MORE INFORMATION:
  • When calling 911, try to provide specific information about the situation, including location and specific threats.
  • If you call 911 by mistake, or no longer need a response, DO NOT HANG UP until the 911 Operator has connected.

​EMERGENT CRISIS

WHAT TO SAY: “I need to make an appointment with my therapist”; “I would like my provider to review my treatment plan”

WHAT TO SAY: “Where can I connect with others like me?”

GENERALLY WELL

SIGNS: Generally positive mood and low anxiety; low to moderate stress; generally enjoying life
ACTION: Self-screenings; self-help books and apps; regular check-ins with primary care physician
WHAT TO SAY: “My life is satisfying, but I want to be sure it can stay that way.”

  • Manage your mental health during stressful days such as Holidays and Severe Weather
  • Practice mindfulness and other resilience strategies
  • Keep your home safe from prescription drug misuse

RESILIENT

SIGNS: Positive mood, even in the face of challenges; able to recover quickly from setbacks
ACTION: Mindful activities and exercise; self-help books and apps; practice work-life balance; self-screenings
WHAT TO SAY: “I am grateful for what I have!”
FOR MORE INFORMATION: 
  • Resilience is the quality of being able to resist temptations, overcome circumstances, and be mindful of one's own ability to make choices that can determine quality of life.
  • Practice Gratitude each day
  • Self-Screening. Check in on your mental health with a free, confidential self-screening.
