Safely Dispose of Unwanted Prescription Medications

One of the best ways to prevent prescription drugs from ending up on the streets and available for abuse is by promptly disposing of unused and unwanted medications. Many communities in the Tri-County Board area maintain monitored prescription pill drop boxes for safe, secure disposal of unwanted medications.

These drop boxes generally accept pills and powders only - no liquids or syringes. See the list of locations below for a drop box near you. In addition, some communities conduct periodic "Drug Take-Back Days" at other locations.
