Sidney Artist's Mixed-Media Piece Selected for 2024 Art of Recovery Directors' Award
A mixed-media painting and collage piece by Sidney artist Jo'Elle Boroff was selected for the 2024 Directors' Award for the artwork that best represents recovery at the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services Annual Meeting and Artists' Reception October 24.
Boroff describes the work as: "This painting portrays the inner demons of the mind that once haunted me. Words that shattered me, convincing me I was a monster, causing me to lose myself. However, within this artwork, you witness a journey towards reconciling with these demons and embracing words of strength. It's about summoning the bravery to confront the reflection within." The art will be used in promotional materials for the 2025 Art of Recovery exhibit. |
