Rules for Guest Wi-Fi Access and Use

Purpose

​The purpose of this policy is to outline acceptable use guidelines for individuals accessing the guest Wi-Fi network at our government agency training center. By connecting to this network, users agree to comply with the rules and regulations outlined below.

Scope

This policy applies to all guests, visitors, and authorized users who connect to the agency’s guest Wi-Fi network.

Acceptable Use Rules 

  1. Access Authorization:
    • Users must acknowledge and accept the terms of this policy before connecting to the guest Wi-Fi network.
    • Unauthorized access or attempts to bypass the acceptance process are strictly prohibited.
  2. Legal and Ethical Conduct:
    • Users shall engage in legal and ethical activities while using the network.
    • Any illegal or unethical behavior, including unauthorized access to other networks or systems, is strictly prohibited.
  3. Device Configuration:
    • Users must configure their devices according to the following criteria:
      • Install and regularly update antivirus software.
      • Apply all security-relevant patches.
      • ​Refrain from connecting the device to any other network not designated for guest use.
  4. Security Responsibilities:
    • Users are responsible for the security of their devices and information.
    • In the event of a security incident, the agency may disconnect the device without notice.
    • No support for security remediation will be provided.
  5. Privacy and Monitoring:
    • Users have no right to privacy while using the network.
    • All network activities may be monitored for inappropriate or illegal behavior.
    • Known inappropriate and malicious sites are blocked.
    • Records of usage may be provided to law enforcement officials.
  6. Termination of Privileges:
    • The agency reserves the right to terminate network privileges if inappropriate or illegal activities are detected.

  • The agency is not responsible for the security of users’ devices or information.
  • No guarantee of performance is made for use of the Guest WiFi network.
