CIT Companion Course for Teachers |
CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) is a nationally recognized program that teaches law enforcement safe and effective approaches to handling crisis incidents involving a mentally ill individual. This CIT Companion Training for Teachers will provide teachers and other school personnel with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively when a student is experiencing a
behavioral health crisis. The training
will be conducted under the instructional supervision of local behavioral
health professionals and law enforcement officers. The training will offer practical information
for teachers and school personnel about how to interact and de-escalate
students in the classroom. At the
conclusion of the 3-day training, the participants will be able to interact
effectively with students in crisis and will understand the local community
resources available to students and their families.
