406 Holidays

The Tri-County Board offices shall be closed on the following holidays:
 
            New Year's Day (January 1)
            Martin Luther King Day (third Monday in January)
            President's Day (third Monday in February)
            Memorial Day (on day observed)
            Independence Day (July 4)
            Labor Day (first Monday in September)
            Columbus Day (second Monday in October)
            Veteran's Day (November 11)
            Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November)
            Christmas Day (December 25)
 
In addition to the holidays listed above, TCB administrative offices shall close an additional day to be decided at the beginning of each fiscal year by the staff who work at that location.
 
If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday.  If it falls on Saturday, it will be observed on the preceding Friday.
 
 
Employees On Vacation Leave.  If a holiday occurs while an employee is on vacation leave, the holiday will not be charged against the employee's vacation leave balance.
 
Salaried Non-Exempt Employees.  Salaried Non-Exempt employees will receive their regular rate of pay for the above holidays.  Overtime will not be paid unless the employee works more than 40 hours in a work week.
 
Hourly Employees.  Hourly employees who work on one of the ten approved holidays will be paid at one and one half times their normal hourly rate for the actual hours worked on the holiday.
