It is the intent of the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services that Board membership should reflect the population of the three-county area that it serves, and should strive to represent as many of the special population groups that it serves as is feasible. As a result, the Board will strive to ensure that no potential candidate for Board membership is denied access to the recruitment and selection process.
Openings for the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services may be advertised in variety of media including but not limited to local newspapers, newsletters, chamber news and websites. In addition, announcements will be sent to special interest groups representing minorities and persons with a disability.
Announcements and advertisements shall state: "Minorities and persons with a disability are encouraged to apply."
The Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services shall interview applicants at an alternative site if the Board office is not accessible to the applicant due to a disability.
Any applicant for a Board position who feels he/she has been denied a position unjustly may file a complaint with the Executive Director of the Board. The Executive Director shall issue a written decision determining the validity of the complaint no later than thirty (30) days after its filing. The applicant will also be informed that if the issue remains unresolved, the applicant may lodge a complaint with the appointing authority for the Board opening such as the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) or the Commissioners of the county in which the vacancy existed.
