207 Communication with Persons whose English Proficiency is Limited

The Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services shall provide for communication with individuals whose English proficiency is limited, including current and prospective patients/clients, family, interested persons, etc., to ensure them an equal opportunity to benefit from services.
If a language facilitator is needed, Board staff will contact a facilitator from an appropriate local resource. This information shall be disseminated to all staff members.
In order to ensure confidentiality, family members and friends of the person needing a language facilitator may be used as facilitators only with the approval of the individual needing the service. Such instances and the permission of the individual receiving the service will be documented by the representative of the Board, and such documentation will be maintained by the Board business office.
