Original Approval Date: December 21, 1994
Revision Effective: September 20, 2017
Supersedes: 304
It is the policy of the Tri-County Board to take affirmative action in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and guidelines. Discrimination against employees and applicants due to race, color, religion, sex (including sexual harassment), national origin, disability or age (40 years or more) is illegal. The policy is applicable to recruitment, selection, hiring, job assignment, compensation, discipline, termination, access to benefits and training of employees.
The Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services shall require its contract agencies to adopt similar policies.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be the Board's designated EEO officer.
The Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services has developed an affirmative action plan to correct any existing problem areas and to improve its equal employment opportunity program. Dissemination of this policy statement to employees as well as to recruitment sources and displaying posters from the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are two methods of publicizing the Board’s commitment to equal employment opportunity.
Persons who believe that the Board has discriminated against them in employment may file a discrimination complaint. The grievance must be filed in the office of the Executive Director within 60 days after the person filing the grievance became aware of the discrimination. Once the complaint is filed, every effort shall be made to resolve it within the time frames established in Policy #204, Section 504 Grievance Procedure.
All personnel of the Board are asked to assist in this effort to achieve equal employment opportunity. Any willful or deliberate violation of this policy by an employee of the Tri-County Board will be cause for appropriate disciplinary action.
