Devil in the Details

In July of 2008 a girl thought people could hear her thoughts. She embarked on a journey of hideous self-discovery and devil-in-the-ear-prayer.

When I was 19 I took 3 walks a day, always iPod in hand. I prayed constantly and cursed myself even more. I would set the iPod on shuffle and leave it in God's hands. I would have conversations with the Father by constantly switching the song and reading the title. It may be obvious to you that I needed medication. I remember not being able to eat at the hospital because the tree outside my room was mad at me. I dared think I  could talk to it, a mighty tree. These things can be looked upon lightly, but there are insidious things looming under the surface.

And they haunt me.
