109 Purchase of Recognition Items

Board funds in reasonable amounts may be used to purchase awards of recognition and/or appreciation for Board members, Board staff, and community members in the following circumstances.
Board members shall receive an award of recognition and appreciation such as a plaque upon leaving the Board as long as they have completed at least one term. In addition, the outgoing Chairperson shall receive an award such as a gavel or plaque upon completion of his/her tenure as Chairperson.
Board staff members shall be recognized with a plaque or other appropriate recognition upon completion of ten years of service at the Board and at subsequent five-year intervals. In addition, staff members shall be similarly recognized upon retirement from the Board with at least ten years of service.
Each community member selected as a recipient of the annual Geraldine B. Nelson Advocacy Award shall be awarded a plaque at the annual dinner meeting. A plate bearing the recipient’s name and the award date shall be purchased and added to the Geraldine B. Nelson Advocacy Award plaque on display at the Board offices.
In addition to the above, other persons deemed worthy may receive awards of recognition and/or appreciation as appropriate from time to time.
Funding for these activities will be included in the Board’s annual budget in the appropriate line items. These funds will be managed by the Executive Director in the same manner as all line items within the approved budget.
