603 Methadone Treatment Services

This policy clarifies the Board’s position related to requests by individuals for funding of Methadone Treatment Services.
All requests for Methadone Treatment Services will be referred for assessment to a Board AoD provider agency from the individual’s county of residence. If the individual is found to be appropriate for Methadone treatment in conjunction with outpatient treatment and if funds are available, the Board will pay for Methadone services. The Board will only fund Methadone detoxification in conjunction with treatment services and not Methadone maintenance only.
The Executive Director shall assure that the provisions of this policy are communicated to the Board, Board staff and AoD provider agencies.
